Accessibility statement

How accessible the Davyhulme Pharmacy website and our Urmston shop are for people with disabilities and additional needs.

Our commitment

Davyhulme Pharmacy is committed to making both our shop on Canterbury Road in Urmston and this website usable by everyone, including patients with sight loss, hearing loss, mobility limitations and cognitive differences. We design pages to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA.

Website features

Every page uses semantic headings, descriptive link text and visible focus outlines. Body text scales smoothly up to two hundred per cent without horizontal scrolling. Colour contrast across the navy and coral palette has been checked against WCAG AA thresholds. The site is fully keyboard navigable and works with screen readers including VoiceOver, NVDA and TalkBack.

In the pharmacy

Step-free access is available from the Canterbury Road frontage. The consultation room is wide enough for a wheelchair and has a height-adjustable chair. A portable hearing loop can be brought to the counter on request. Staff are happy to read labels aloud, write down dosing instructions in large print, or use simple language for anyone who finds clinical jargon difficult.

Known limitations

A small number of third-party widgets (booking calendar, embedded map) may not yet meet our internal target. We are working with the suppliers to improve them and will update this page as fixes ship.

Tell us if something is hard to use

Email davyhulmepharmacy@gmail.com or call 0161 748 3016 and ask for the duty pharmacist. We aim to reply within two working days and to fix simple problems within a week. You can also report an accessibility problem to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (equalityhumanrights.com).

Preparation of this statement
