Role of the 0.25 mg dose
Tolerance dose. Like Mounjaro, Wegovy begins with a small starter dose whose only purpose is to let the body get used to semaglutide. Significant weight loss is not expected on 0.25 mg.
How long you stay on 0.25 mg
Four weeks. The 0.25 mg pen is given for the full first month before any step up.
What to expect
- A short period of nausea in the first few days, usually fading by day five
- Mild reduction in appetite — you may stop wanting second helpings
- Light changes in bowel habit
- Modest loss of one to two pounds across the month is typical
Injection technique
Inject once a week into the front of the thigh, the abdomen at least 5 cm from the navel, or the back of the upper arm. Rotate sites weekly. Pens are stored in the fridge until the day of use.
Pharmacist review
Four-week pharmacist review at our Urmston counter. We decide together whether to climb to 0.5 mg or hold at 0.25 mg for another month.
